Driving Fiji’s Digital Evolution
The Government of Fiji is executing an ambitious strategy to improve EoDB nationwide, streamlining government-to-business interactions and fostering economic activity. Central to this strategy is BusinessNOW Fiji, the flagship initiative that aims to move the country away from fragmented, paper-based processes toward a unified “one country, one system” for business services.
KAIZEN plays a collaborative role in this digital transformation by integrating with FILPAS (Fiji Integrated Licences and Permits Approval System), the digital backbone connecting multiple agencies into a single, transparent system. By enabling simultaneous reviews, real-time status updates, and cross-agency approvals, KAIZEN ensures that complex reforms, such as the Building Permits Approval System (BPAS), are implemented efficiently. This integration has cut building permit approvals from 160–170 days to just a fraction of that time, allowing projects to progress faster and supporting investment and growth.

By reducing bottlenecks and improving transparency, KAIZEN strengthens Fiji’s economic framework and supports the DigitalFIJI initiative. As Minister for Finance, Commerce and Business Development, Esrom Immanuel stated, these reforms “give people the opportunity to participate in economic activity without having to navigate unnecessary barriers.”
